The Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy depot operation. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll help drive performance, maintain high service standards, and ensure operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Depot Manager in daily operations and decision-making

  • Managing customer enquiries and building strong client relationships

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the depot team

  • Overseeing equipment hire, servicing, and logistics

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

  • Assisting in budget management and commercial performance

  • Visiting customers, attending sites and growing the business

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working as a Sales Manager, Hire Controller, Depot Supervisor, or Assistant Manager within the lifting, plant, or tool hire sector who’s looking to take the next step in their career.

About You

  • Has experience within the lifting equipment industry

  • Is proactive, commercially aware, and confident managing people

  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Driving license essential
