The Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy depot operation. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll help drive performance, maintain high service standards, and ensure operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Depot Manager in daily operations and decision-making

Managing customer enquiries and building strong client relationships

Leading, mentoring, and developing the depot team

Overseeing equipment hire, servicing, and logistics
-
Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
-
Assisting in budget management and commercial performance
- Visiting customers, attending sites and growing the business
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working as a Sales Manager, Hire Controller, Depot Supervisor, or Assistant Manager within the lifting, plant, or tool hire sector who’s looking to take the next step in their career.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience within the lifting equipment industry

Understands depot operations and customer service within a hire environment

Is proactive, commercially aware, and confident managing people

Has excellent organisational and communication skills

Takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety and service
- Driving license essential
