Customer Care Specialist

A leading organisation in the plant hire and equipment solutions sector is seeking a Customer Care Specialist to join their dynamic support team. With a strong focus on service excellence and continuous improvement, this business supports a wide range of sectors across the UK, delivering equipment and services with efficiency and precision.

The Role

This is a varied and fast-paced position providing support across administration, hire, and service functions within the Customer Care Centre. The role plays a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction, operational accuracy, and smooth communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all breakdowns are logged with accurate details
• Maintain 100% accuracy on contracts, off-hires, and exchanges
• Process suspensions in a timely and accurate manner
• Carry out daily contract checks to ensure compliance
• Liaise with buyers for valid PO numbers and site contacts
• Manage job statuses, import job cards and invoices using hire software
• Track and update third-party job progress
• Issue purchase orders to suppliers and manage recharges
• Coordinate parts and sales orders to site
• Maintain up-to-date documentation
• Provide admin support to the rehire and operator coordination teams
• Deliver high levels of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Support team members and perform ad-hoc tasks as required
• Proactively identify and maximise business opportunities

About You

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong spoken and written communication skills
• GCSE Grade C or above in English Language (or equivalent)
• Admin/call centre experience ideally with a passion for customer service
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work under pressure
• A proactive, positive attitude with the flexibility to adapt to business needs
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Prior knowledge or experience in the plant hire or construction equipment industry is advantageous but not essential
