About the Role

A well-established national provider of specialist equipment for the construction and infrastructure sectors is looking to recruit a skilled Workshop Plant Engineer. Based at a busy depot, this is a hands-on role focused on the servicing, inspection, and repair of plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plant engineer or technician with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge to join a stable and professional working environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair hire equipment and vehicles in line with company and manufacturer schedules

  • Conduct pre-hire checks and complete associated documentation accurately

  • Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and inspections on a wide range of plant and vehicle equipment

  • Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, whether in the workshop or roadside

  • Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records and reports

  • Use and maintain all PPE as issued, ensuring cleanliness and proper condition

  • Consistently follow company procedures and safety protocols across all tasks


About You:

  • Experience in plant, HGV, or agricultural equipment maintenance and repair

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems

  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced depot environment
