Service Manager

My client is seeking a skilled Plant Service Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our plant fleet, managing both the workshop technicians and mobile fitters. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all equipment, managing a team of technicians (workshop and mobile, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Duties:

• Managing the Workshop and all fleet maintenance activity. Plan, assign and review the work of the fitters to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction
• Monitor inventory levels for spare parts and equipment
• Undertaking recruitment, performance, discipline and promotion of fitters and apprentices (where appropriate) and authorise leave and overtime as required
• Manage Stock
• Oversea, monitor and drive engineering standards
• Liaise with the Depot Manager and Asset Manager to ensure maximum availability of fleet.
• Deputise for the Depot Manager in their absence
• Willingly perform ad hoc duties as required

Skills:

• Recognised industry qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ 2/3 in Plant Maintenance)
• Proven people manager
• Willingness to cover for the Depot Manager and be comfortable as a senior mamber of the managment team
• Willingness to be hands on in the workshop as and when required
• Positive attitude
