About the Role

A leading national provider of specialist equipment to the construction and infrastructure sectors is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Engineer to join their service team. This is a field-based role, attending customer sites to carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery and associated equipment.

This position offers the opportunity to work independently, supporting a diverse customer base while being backed by a trusted depot network and technical support team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out on-site repairs, servicing, and diagnostics on a range of construction plant equipment

  • Respond to breakdowns promptly and professionally, minimising downtime for the customer

  • Complete inspections and scheduled maintenance in line with company and manufacturer standards

  • Accurately record all service activities, parts used, and job completion details

  • Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle and manage parts and tools effectively

  • Liaise with the depot and customers to provide updates and support excellent customer service

  • Adhere to health and safety practices and wear appropriate PPE at all times


About You:

  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant, HGV, agricultural, or similar heavy equipment

  • Strong diagnostic skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to fieldwork

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Strong communication skills and customer service focus

  • Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and prioritise jobs effectively
