Mobile Plant Fitter

We are working with a long-established, reputable organisation in the construction and plant hire sector to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter.

This is a mobile role covering sites across Essex and Suffolk, focusing on the maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repair of a wide range of plant machinery - including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and more. The business operates its own fleet, used exclusively on internal construction projects, and prides itself on maintaining its equipment to the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conducting scheduled servicing and inspections of plant machinery

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults

• Attending breakdowns on-site across Essex and Suffolk

• Completing job sheets, inspection forms and maintenance logs

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient mobile workspace

What You’ll Need

• Solid experience as a Plant Fitter or similar mechanical role

• Good working knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and basic electrics

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential for mobile role)

• A hands-on, safety-conscious approach

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

What’s on Offer

• £19–£22 per hour, depending on experience

• 1.5x Overtime Pay

• Travel time paid door-to-door (overtime)

• 42.5-hour working week:
  Mon–Thurs: 8am–5pm | Fri: 8am–4pm (paid until 5pm)

• Company van, fuel card, phone, PPE, and uniform provided

• 20 days holiday + bank holidays

• £25 per week attendance bonus
