Field Service Engineer (Heavy Plant)
Location: North West (ideal base Warrington, Manchester or Liverpool)
Salary: Up to £20.00 per hour DOE + overtime (x1.5, double time between midnight and 5am)
Hours: 40 hours per week + paid overtime
Package: VW Crafter van with racking, company laptop/iPad, mobile phone, £40 monthly tool allowance, manufacturer training (UK & overseas), and ongoing career development

The Opportunity

We’re working with one of the UK’s leading independent equipment suppliers – a fast-growing, well-respected business supporting key sectors including construction, demolition, ports, recycling and timber.

They’re now looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their North West team, covering sites across the region. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role, suited to a skilled Plant Fitter/Engineer who takes pride in quality workmanship and problem-solving.

You’ll be joining a supportive, well-organised service division where engineers are trusted to manage their workload, provided with excellent tooling and training, and genuinely valued for the work they do.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out routine maintenance, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on heavy construction plant and machinery

• Complete warranty and damage repairs, ensuring clear and accurate reporting via company systems

• Travel to customer sites across the North West, with occasional national coverage

• Communicate effectively with customers and the service team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and safely

• Maintain company vehicle and tooling to a high standard

What You’ll Bring

• Strong background in the plant or heavy equipment industry is essential

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)

• Solid experience with diagnostic tools and software (engine and hydraulic systems)

• CSCS card (preferred)

• Full UK driving licence

• A proactive, customer-focused approach and attention to detail
