About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Fitter to join a professional and enthusiastic maintenance team. The role is key to servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of plant and welfare equipment, ensuring operations run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high safety standards, including housekeeping, PPE use, attending toolbox talks, and near-miss reporting

  • Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and occasionally assisting other depots during busy periods

  • Flexibly work extra hours or off-site when required

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure prompt delivery of equipment

  • Inspect welfare cabins and plant equipment, completing any necessary repairs or services

  • Identify and report damage to your line manager

  • Deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services consistently

  • Monitor your work to minimise errors, customer dissatisfaction, and unnecessary costs

  • Demonstrate professional behaviours in line with company values

  • Adapt to operational changes and be receptive to organisational updates

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Mechanical engineering background

  • Low-voltage DC experience (e.g., automotive)

  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with diesel generators

  • Basic fabrication and hydraulics

  • Basic plumbing experience

  • CSCS site card

  • Mechanical engineering or automotive qualification

  • Automotive electrical qualification
