About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Fitter to join a professional and enthusiastic maintenance team. The role is key to servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of plant and welfare equipment, ensuring operations run smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain high safety standards, including housekeeping, PPE use, attending toolbox talks, and near-miss reporting

Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and occasionally assisting other depots during busy periods

Flexibly work extra hours or off-site when required
-
Liaise with other departments to ensure prompt delivery of equipment

Inspect welfare cabins and plant equipment, completing any necessary repairs or services

Identify and report damage to your line manager

Deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services consistently

Monitor your work to minimise errors, customer dissatisfaction, and unnecessary costs
-
Demonstrate professional behaviours in line with company values
-
Adapt to operational changes and be receptive to organisational updates
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
-
Mechanical engineering background
-
Low-voltage DC experience (e.g., automotive)
-
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
-
Experience with diesel generators
-
Basic fabrication and hydraulics
-
Basic plumbing experience
-
CSCS site card
-
Mechanical engineering or automotive qualification
-
Automotive electrical qualification
